EPL ,PREMIER IN NAME AND ACTION
-EPL,LA LIGA AND BUNDES LIGA
When it comes to history, EPL was formed in 1992 after a breakup from the yesteryear Football League owing to lucrative broadcasting prospects.La Liga was constituted in 1927 with 10 teams. The German league came in 1963 after the poor performance of the national team in the 1962 World Cup.It had initially a set of 16 teams(Interestingly, current champions Bayern Munich did not feature in the inaugural edition even though it was established in 1900).
Football gains much attention with its unpredictability and spontaneity in match situations. So when this factor of the game is neutralized, the gist of the game gets lost. What entertainment does watching something without a thriller line can give you? This is the ingredient that sets the English version apart from its contenders. You will see 'smaller' clubs ,actually smaller in their monetary value but not in their quality of football, giving constant upsets to the bigger fishes in the league.Yes of course we witness occasional turn of the tables in Spain and Germany, but it just don't pose a threat to the standings in the league. One will only get to see a club fighting the relegation battle the previous season and still emerging as the top contender for the title in the EPL(you know the chronicles of Leicester right). Such threatening runs add to the glister of the league and increase the viewership.
Rivalries and derbies in football are universal. The El-Clasico(Real v/s Barca) might be the most coveted rivalry in Spain and Borussia v/s Bayern would be the most sought after in Germany but in the Premier League each game is a derby and each game has its tense moments. Both in Spain and Germany there are superficial rivalries but none of them attract global attention. With assured entertainment and thrillers EPL stands tall among football leagues and not just 'Premier' in England but in the whole world.
